[Unboxing & review] BTS Skool Luv Affair special addition

Hello everyone~ I'm back with another review!
Today I'll be talking about BTS's new album: Skool Luv Affair special addition, which I purchased via Yesasia.
BTS (or Bangtan Sonyeondan of Bulletproof Boy Scouts) is a korean boy group composed of seven members: leader Rap Monster, Jin, Suga, Jhope, V, Jimin and Jongkook. They are really talented, considering the kpop scene right now, they write and produce almost all of their song, they have amazing choreography and are pretty cool on stage, but in the end they're just seven giant dorks.
I decided to buy the repackage album because I loved all the regular album songs and because this special edition includes two DVDs region free with english subtitles, a freaking textbook-sized photobook, a photocard and, obviously, the CD.
Here are some pics~

I got Jin photocard! He's not my favourite member, but I like everyone in BTS so it's more than ok.

All in all I'm happy with what I received. The packaging is good and sturdy and the CDs are safely secured in place. I love the little doodles scattered everywhere around the album, they're too cute!
Other than the songs contained in the regular Skool Luv Affair album, there are two new tracks: Miss Right and I Like It (Slow jam remix), plus six instrumental tracks. I have yet to listen to it, but I usually enjoy instrumentals and Bangtan haven't disappointed me so far, so I'm fairly sure I'll like the new songs too.
The DVDs, on the contrary, I watched. The first one contains the extended Skool Luv Affair showcase, and the second one has a lot of silly behind the scene contents from both the showcase and the comeback preparations.

I surely recommend this album to BTS fans!

Venice Harajuku Fashion Walk

A few weeks ago I attended my very first Harajuku Fashion Walk in Venice. (For those who don't know, HFW is kind of a meet up for people who like to wear all kind of japanese street styles, from Lolita to Gyaru to Shironuri).

I'm so happy I went there and finally got rid of my Lone Lolita status! I was really scared at first: everyone seemed to already know each other and since I'm a bit on the socially awkward side I was afraid I wasn't going to make any friends. Fortunately I was wrong, the girls were sweet and friendly and so very pretty~ I missed seeing and talking with real life Lolis!

We met in the morning and took a walk around Venice, we were quite an unusual sight for residents and tourists alike and almost everyone stopped us and asked for pictures. When we finally reached a place suitable for eating we settled down and took wonderful pictures together. There was a photographer who wanted to take some shots of every Lolita individually and eventually came my turn. Boy, was I nervous! I'm not confident enough for a photoshoot! In the end the guy was super easygoing and he did wonders easing my tension.

Here are some pics of the event~

[Review] Glitzywonderland and Infanta’s Disney Snow White OP

This January I had some spare money and I finally ordered a dress I was pining over for months: the Disney Snow White OP from chinese Lolita brand Infanta. I made my purchase through Glitzy Wonderland, a Taobao reseller who conveniently offers free shipping and occasional discounts.

Glitzy Wonderland

Here’s the timeline of my order:
  • 23/01/2014 I purchased the dress through Glitzy’s site using their easy-to-follow cart system. Soon after, I received the invoice, paid and the customer service contacted me confirming my order.
  • 25/01/2014 I received another mail stating that they would send me the tracking number after the shipping occured.
  • 30/01/2014 A few days later I was still waiting for the tracking code, so I contacted Glitzy’s customer service.
  • 01/02/2014 They replied with the tracking code and a reassurance that my dress had been shipped on the 29th and was on his way to Italy.
  • 06/02/2014 Even if the dress was shipped with Airmail I was pleasantly surprised to receive it only a week later. Without customs! Yay~

I wasn't at home when the dress came so I don't have any picture of the packaging.

Infanta's OP

Now onto the dress! This is my first purchase from Infanta and I’m very happy with it. The OP looks as beautiful as in the stock photos, it’s pretty well made and the fabric is soft and comfortable. It’s fully lined too.

Front

Back
The bodice is well fitted thanks to the plastic boning on the waist, the size can also be adjusted using the ribbons in the back. The buttons are heart shaped and give a really cute finish – unfortunately they’re useless since the dress has a lateral zip, but they’re pretty~ The velvet used is luxurious and soft to the touch, just like the delicate lace, while the gold ribbon is sturdy and crisp. My only complaint is the too visible stitching attaching the ribbon to the bodice, it seems hurried and not finished: a true disappointment.

The bottom is made of three layers: the lining, the actual skirt and a flowy chiffon overskirt. The ribbons on the front are of the same material of the gold one (but they’re better stitched) and the ruffles are neatly made. The skirt is wide and can hold a decent amount of petticoat.

With the dress came a red rose corsage. It seems pretty sturdy but a little fake looking.

Concluding...

Glitzy Wonderland: 4.5/5. The transaction went smoothly and the shipping was super fast, but they forgot to email me when the dress was shipped, giving me a mini heart attack >.<

Dress quality: 4/5. The OP is really beautiful and it matches perfectly the stock photos, but some of the stitching is rushed and the flower corsage seems a bit fake.

Overall I had a very good experience with both Glitzy Wonderland and Infanta and I absolutely recommend them!

I expect to put together an outfit with this dress very soon and I'll make sure to post the results. In the meantime, have a lovely day~

Exams and belated Christmas presents

Well, I have to start in one way or another, soooo yeah. This morning I had my korean language exam, the first of a long dreadful series. Even if I think I did quite well,  this semester I'm not really in the mood to study for any of my courses at uni. Maybe it's because my professors this year really suck. And I mean really really suck.

Today I also got some late Xmas presents! My roommate gave me this awesome Infinite calendar she made herself. Infinite is by far my favourite Kpop group ever so it was really sweet of her, even if she dislikes korean music.

I hung it on my wall right away, together with the supposed-to-be-golden-but-its-clearly-yellow lightstick I managed to obtain at Infinite One Great Step concert in Paris. Cue sad music. I miss them so much!

My mum's friend also gave me two adorable cups/candles which I absolutely love. They give off a sweet and delicate scent and I can't wait to use them!

Sadly I forgot them at home and I'm now in Venice, so no pretty candles for me :(

안녕~

P.S. Obviously english is not my first language, so bear with me and my sometimes odd grammar/phrasing/whatever ok? I write this blog to improve my english skills too :)
